With reference to your despatch 0.40 of ord

February, 1925, approving the proposals Lede in Sir R. E.

Stubbs' despatch 10.444 of 26th November, 1924, for the grant

of a lease of land in the Kowloon Peninsula to the Union Church,

Hong Kong, as a site for the erection of a Church, I have the

honour to enclose for your information a copy of a letter of

27th April, 1928, received from the Monorary Secretary to the Committee of Management of the Churd), requesting the grant of a seller but more conveniently situated site in place of t.e

one already approved.

2.

The original site was not handed over to the

Trustees of the Union Church as they were never in a position

to start work during the period of three yours for which i was reserved end it has accordingly remained Crown Land.

3.

There is no objection on the part of this

Goverment to the grant of the alternative sit and I enclose

Enclos. Nos.2 & a plan and a copy of the proposed condition of the grant for

which I should be glad to have your approval.
